Nord University opened as Norway's 8th university in 2011, as University of Nordland (UIN). From 1st January 2016, UIN merged with University College Nord-Trøndelag, to become Nord University. The merged entity currently has approximately 12,000 students.
Nord offers more than 180 programmes?within?several academic disciplines,?at bachelor, master and PhD levels. Most?programmes are taught in Norwegian but?it now offer a limited range of PhD, Master programs and Bachelor programmes in English.
